Essential Documents required to fill the eVisa by Malaysian Citizens

Malaysian citizens wishing for a trip to India, should opt for the Indian eVisa, which is easy, convenient and takes around 20 minutes to be completed. However, before you start filling the form, you should gather some of the documents which are necessary:

  • Valid Malaysian passport
  • Email address
  • Scanned Passport size photo (upload photos keeping in mind the uploading requirements )

To start filling the form, you must first make sure to have all the necessary documents including valid Malaysian passport, passport size photo, return plane ticket and proof of funds in your bank account. After gathering all the documents, follow these basic steps:

  • Visit the website and fill the requisite details in the form.
  • Complete filling details like full name of the applicant, date of birth, nationality, residence, address, email, mobile number.
  • Passport number, passport issuing country, passport issuing date and expiry date.
  • Answer questions like gender, religion, occupation, qualification
  • Other questions like if there is any past criminal record, and if there are any health issues.
  • Attach the required documents like scanned copy of the passport, and recent passport size photo.
  • Review the application and use a debit/credit card for payment of fees.

Note:

The approved eVisa will be sent via mail. It is important to take a print out copy of this electronic visa and keep a digital copy as well. Travelers will be required to present the approved eVisa at the checkpoint on arrival in India.

The time taken to process for the eVisa is 3-4 days, however it might take longer if there are issues like incomplete details, lack of genuine documents, error while filling the details, etc. So, the applicants are requested to apply 8 days in advance because the time taken to process is 3-4 days.
